Safety

Before we begin, ensuring safety is paramount when it comes to weight training. Remember you are responsible for ensuring your safety and that of those around you. Below are some areas you should consider when training or in a gym environment.

  • Ensuring you've got a good warm-up under your belt and your body is all set for the exercises ahead is key.

  • Make sure you've got the right gear for your lifts, whether it's your favourite workout gear or grabbing the right equipment from the gym. And, if you're unsure, don't hesitate to ask for a helping hand.

  • Be mindful of your fellow gym-goers and the space around you. Take your time and be patient, and don't forget to give a heads up if you need a bit of extra room for your lift.

  • If someone accidentally gets in the way of your filming, don't sweat it. Remember, we're all sharing the gym space together, and safety always comes first.

  • When loading up weights, do it evenly and safely. Let's avoid any tipping mishaps that could cause a bump or bruise.

  • And please, let's keep the gym tidy. Always put your weights back where they belong and leave your workout spot as you’d want found it. It's safer for everyone that way.

  • Have a backup plan for those unexpected moments. Sometimes we lift a weight that's just too heavy, or a rep that's a bit out of reach. It happens to the best of us, so be ready to handle it safely.

  • If you've got a spotter, make sure you're both on the same page and feeling confident. Clear communication is key.

  • Leave your ego at the door and focus on staying safe. It's not worth risking injury just to impress.

Remember, we're all responsible for keeping ourselves and each other safe in the gym.
